Leaving Vietnam wasn’t an easy choice. We genuinely loved the relaxed lifestyle, the supportive community, the travel opportunities, and so much more about living in Da Nang.
Over the past year, I haven’t been as active with videos or sharing much of my personal life. So, what’s been happening and how did our lives change?
Prices in Antalya shocked us at first. Familiar restaurants that we would go to or order from several times a week 2 years ago now felt like a splurge. But after this trip we spent 2 months in Germany and now, converting prices in Antalya to Euro, they no longer felt as shocking.
I disappeared from YouTube for a while again, and it wasn’t intentional. The plan was to give you a new video every 2 weeks, and I had it all planned out for the whole summer. But life keeps teaching me that it doesn’t care what my plans are, throwing one curveball after another.
After 5 months of work it’s finally here! I know many people don’t really see a way out of 9/5, working multiple jobs just to cover the ever rising rent and the basics. Just this week I did a 2-day solo trip to Hue and can’t believe I was putting it off for so long! Great hotels in the heart of the city, local restaurants with yummy food and sooo many things to see!
I was under impression Hue is basically a “historical” city, where all you can do is go visit gray tombs and old (also gray) palaces all looking the same.
By now I think I can call apartment hunting in Da Nang my hoppy. We are doing it every month, as we extend our visas for another 30 days. But hopefully starting August this will change.
Why would we want to move again? Well, if I’m honest, Da Nang is a beautiful city with an amazing beach. But it can also be quite busy and the traffic makes it noisy, which led us to seek a quieter small-town life.
A month ago after a break I planned to start making YouTube videos again. And then… we were sick on and off for a month, it got crazy hot in Da Nang and we just couldn’t get ourselves to go out for a full day of filming in the heat. Living in the tropics is quite different from a holiday 😅
