We LEFT VIETNAM for good

leaving Vietnam Olga Pro

Over the past year, I haven’t been as active with videos or sharing much of my personal life.

New goals

But last December, I decided to open up more and talked about my struggles with YouTube in this video. I also set a major goal to create a documentary, and a few months later, I did it! This project gave me a lot of new experiences and pushed me way out of my comfort zone. I approached people for interviews, handled some rejections (which is totally understandable—many don’t want to share their private lives on camera), but I stayed focused on my goal.

Along the way, I built a WhatsApp community that helped people settle in Vietnam, and seeing it grow was a huge WIN for me.

Decision to leave

But after that, Rene and I had some big decisions to make. While we truly loved the day-to-day life in Da Nang, there were still challenges. We found ourselves in a middle ground: we didn’t want to keep living as digital nomads, constantly moving and exploring new places, but we weren’t ready for retirement either, with responsibilities beyond just ourselves. So, we made the tough decision to relocate again.

Relocating… Again

We chose a country, made a plan, and then—changed our minds twice in just six months! But now, we’re finally settled, and we’ve secured our residency permits in a new place. In my upcoming video, I’ll be sharing what ultimately made us leave Da Nang. Rene just needs to carve out some time from his new job so we can sit down together and share both of our perspectives.

I know a lot of my followers are also searching for a new place to call home, and I hope our story can offer some helpful insights. As a little teaser, our new location is very expat-friendly, with a “retirement” residency permit option too! I’ll share more about it soon.
