My Khe is the beach in Da Nang where you want to be! I always recommend choosing a hotel nearby. It is one of the most popular beaches in Da Nang, and for good reason. With silky white sand, gorgeous palm trees, and stunning city views, this beach has it all.

My Khe beach basic information:

Services – There are many popular cafes and restaurants nearby, offering fresh seafood and local Vietnamese dishes.

Can you swim? During the high season it’s possible. Swimming is supervised with safe areas flagged and a guard watching over the swimmers.

Is the beach clean? – My Khe Beach in Da Nang is very clean and well-maintained.

Activities – The rough ocean is great for surfing and other water sports, while the beach has areas with palm trees providing some shade for picnics.

The ocean at My Khe Beach can get quite rough, so be cautious when swimming. Riptides are not uncommon, and even strong swimmers should listen to the advice of the lifeguard. This beach is perfect for amateur surfers, with surf shops nearby offering rentals.

In the evening, couples, families, and beach volleyball teams share the My Khe beach in sunset harmony, and meditation groups sit listening to the ocean waves.

My An Beach Da Nang

My A Beach is a smaller beach in Da Nang next to My Khe, located in the My An and Khue My districts. If you’re looking for a beach that offers plenty of water sports, then My An Beach in Da Nang is the place to go.

One of the most popular spots in My An is the ‘premier beach”. Although it’s open to the public, this particular area still manages to maintain its peacefulness and cleanliness, giving you the feeling of being on a private beach. Plus, you can park your bike for the whole day for a small fee, while security keeps an eye on it.

But what makes My An beach stand out from other beaches is its groves of lush palm trees, providing ample shade for those looking for a beachside picnic during the day. So if you’re looking for a serene getaway, My An beach is definitely worth a visit.

Son Tra Peninsula, Tien Sa Beach Da Nang

Son Tra peninsula, also known as Monkey Mountain, located merely 8 km from the city center, is a must-see in Da Nang. Sandy shores snuggled amidst towering mountains and lush green jungles, all bordering a crystal-clear blue sea. There’s more to this paradise than sunbathing and swimming – trekking through the verdant jungles, exploring serene pagodas, cruising around the peninsula on a scooter, and snorkeling are all part of the package.

Tien Sa Beach is a secluded beach located in a small cove. Perfect if you’re looking for a good beach to swim! It can get crowded in the afternoon. There’s also a parking fee of 10k for bikes and 20k for cars after you pass the Hotel’s gate. Just a heads up so you can plan ahead.

If you’re looking to do something a little more adventurous, you can rent a boat here and row around for 200-300k per hour. Sounds like a fun time to me!

There are several spots shaded by coconut trees where you can sit and chill with your friends. And when you’re ready to wash off the salt water, there’s even a fresh water shower available.

Son Tra Peninsula, Tien Sa Beach basic information:

Can you swim? Yes, you can. The beach is clean and well-maintained.

Activities – Tien Sa Beach in Da Nang is perfect for swimming and watching the sunset.

Banana Beach Da Nang

Banana Beach is a hidden gem located in the northern part of Da Nang, near the Hai Van Pass. The beach is relatively undeveloped and quiet, with no vendors or crowds. It’s perfect for those looking to relax and sunbathe in peace. The beach has a long stretch of white sand and is surrounded by towering cliffs, making it an ideal spot to catch some rays.

Getting to Banana beach in Da Nang isn’t a piece of cake. You’ll need to trek through the forest for about an hour to reach it, and the trail isn’t exactly well-marked. To find it, head down to the road from the parking house and look for a small track on your left. Alternatively, you can ask the guy at the parking house for directions.

If you’re up for a little adventure, this spot is a great place to camp out. Just keep in mind that lugging your gear there won’t be a cakewalk. Be prepared for a bit of a challenge!

If you’re looking for warm and sunny weather with little to no rain, then the dry season from March to September is the best time to visit Da Nang.

The peak season for domestic and international tourists is from June to August when temperatures can reach above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Together with humidity it will feel very hot. I would compare high season in Da Nang with the weather in Phuket, Thailand.

The wet season from October to March brings heavy rain and some typhoons, but the temperature is still warm, albeit a little cooler than the dry season. The period from January to March has better weather with temperatures around 25 degrees Celsius.

Can you swim at Da Nang Beaches?

Yes, you can swim at Da Nang Beach, but it might not be what you expected. And during low season you can’t swim in Da Nang at all due to heavy wind/high waves/rain.

But even during high season when the beaches in Da Nang are full of people, you need to take some precautions to ensure your safety. Here are some tips:

• Bring a friend: Always swim with a buddy and keep an eye on each other.
• Pay attention to red flags on the beach in Da Nang and swim in designated areas.
• Don’t Swim at Night: Visibility is poor, and the chance of rescue at sea is unlikely. Also, predatory fish come out to hunt during dusk.
• Stay Away from Jellyfish: Box jellyfish have been found in Vietnam’s coastal waters, but they’re rare. Other species of jellyfish may cause discomfort but pose no real threat.
• Beware of Riptides: Strong ocean currents can take you further away from the beach, making it hard to swim back. If you feel caught in a riptide, swim parallel to the beach until the current weakens and calmly swim back to safety.
