Right now in 2025 inflation is still very high in Turkey, so don’t be surprised if prices are double/triple from last year.

When it comes to accommodation in Turkey, there’s a wide range of options available to suit all budgets. Naturally, the highest prices are during the summertime. But if you want to save money while still being able to swim, visit during shoulder season in Antalya and Alanya.

How much for Hotels in Istanbul?

Istanbul, as the country’s largest city and a popular tourist destination, offers a variety of choices. Budget travelers can find affordable hostels or budget hotels starting from around 100-200 TRY per night.

Average budget travelers may opt for mid-range hotels or guesthouses, ranging from 2000-3000 TRY per night (depending on the season).

Luxury travelers seeking indulgence can choose from luxurious resorts or high-end hotels, with prices starting from around 8000 Lira per night (depending on the season).

For example, Novotel Istanbul Bosphorus allows access and proximity to local attractions and sights (no need to spend hours in busy Istanbul traffic) and offers access to massage, restaurant with a Bosphorus view, and fitness center on-site.

Must Visit in Istanbul is Galata Tower. To save money, buy a Museum Pass Istanbul to access multiple museums in the city. It is sold both at Galata Tower and at other big Museums in Istanbul.

One of the most popular and truly you can’t miss it in Istanbul is Bosphorus Tour. On a tight budget you can take a 20-minute public ferry from Karakoy to Kadikoy (you can use IstanbulKart to pay for it).

But I would highly recommend joining a Bosphorus Tour for a longer tour on a mega yacht with dinner. Compared to a similar tour in Europe the price is still very affordable – around 30 Euro.

But be aware of long queues for the most popular attractions (like Topkapi Palace, for example). It can be 1-2 hours before you can enter! Either come as early as possible, or buy skip-the-line tickets. They will cost extra, but you will save hours!

Another way to save time is a Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus. You will see the major highlights by double decker bus and pass the bridge between Europe and Asia, the Bosporus Bridge.

Prices for food start at 100-150 Turkish Lira for a meal at inexpensive fast food restaurants. Add a drink and you would spend 150-200 Lira. Turkish breakfast “Kahvalti” also starts from around 150 Lira (for a nperson) and goes to 350-400 Lira at mid-priced restaurants.

Prices for a meal at mid-priced restaurants start at 150-250 for a meal. And for dinner for 2 people you should budget 500-800 Turkish Lira.

Drinks start at around 100TL for a coffee, 60 Lira for a cola and around 150 Lira for a beer at the average beach bar.

Grocery shopping Prices in Turkey

Best grocery shops in Turkey are A101, Sok, BIM, or Migros. There you can find affordable snacks, drinks, and beach essentials.

For example, you can expect to pay around 200 Lira for 1 kg of chicken meat, 500TL for 1kg of Norvegian Salmon, 115 Lira for 100g of local cheese, 55 Lira for 70g Nescafe coffee.
